THE REVISED FIVE MINDFULNESS TRAININGS
On July 8, 2009 Thay presented the new, revised version of the Five Mindfulness Trainings to the sangha of nearly one thousand people in Plum Village. Click here to read.
Since November 15, 2008 until now, for nearly eight months, the fourfold sangha of Plum Village has been practicing sitting meditation, walking meditation, and dharma discussion continuously; especially during the Winter
Retreat, French Retreat, and the 21-Day Retreat, with the focus on the topic of The Path of the Buddha: Buddhist contributions to a global ethic.
The revised text of the Five Mindfulness Trainings is the outcome of this deep looking. The Five Mindfulness Trainings are the Buddhist vision for a global spirituality and ethic.

Dear Sangha,
Maitreya-Fonds needs your help! We are a German-based humanitarian aid organization serving the poor in Vietnam and we work together with the Plum Village Understanding and Love program. Because of the worldwide economical crisis, combined with financial fears, the donations we have received in the last months are much less compared to previous years. We are lacking about € 85 000,00 for our 2010 budget. We have to reduce the monthly salaries for 348 Kindergarten-teachers from € 25,00 down to € 16,08 and the expenses for food for 754 hungry children from € 3,00 to € 2,36 per child per month. These conditions are especially hard for the poorest of poor people. Please help us to improve the situation.
with warmth and gratitude,
Dr. Christian Käufl – 1. Vorsitzender des Maitreya-Fonds e.V.
